Taliban Warns Media Not to Publish Rumors
Kabul – The intelligence department of the Taliban acting government has said that the media outlets should not spread false news and baseless rumors.
“A number of figures want to insult Islamic values so that they can achieve western citizenship,” the Taliban tweeted today (Thursday, January 20).
According to the intelligence department, these individuals are accusing the Taliban military forces, and the media is reporting the news.
The country’s media, in accordance with the principles of journalism, should strictly refrain from publishing false news and baseless rumors, the department added.
The intelligence department has pointed out that insulting religious sanctities and rituals is not acceptable to the people.
The remarks came after reports of persecution and detention of female protesters in Kabul by the Taliban.
