Taliban Militants Shot to Death a Former Popular Local Resistance Commander in Takhar

Kabul – Local sources in Takhar province have confirmed that Taliban militants have shot to death a former popular local resistance commander of the previous government. According to sources, the incident took place in the city of Taleqan on Sunday, March 27.

Sources told Hasht-e Subh that the former commander named Malik, who was a bodyguard of Wafiullah Rahmani, a former Chairman of Takhar Provincial Council.

Local Taliban rebels have not yet commented on the case.

In another case, Taliban militants murdered an ex-army soldier in Takhar province two days ago.
