Taliban Imposes New Dress Code on Female Teachers in Ghazni

Sources in Ghazni province say that the Taliban has imposed new restrictions on women, adding that its virtue promotion department has recently ordered female teachers to appear only in black outfits and face masks.

According to sources, the Taliban’s virtue promoters have raided some schools and warned female teachers that they would be relieved of their duties if they did not attend the schools in black outfits and face masks.

Female teachers in Ghazni say that although there are no male employees in girls’ schools and that they always wear the hijab accordingly, they face increasing pressure from the administration of virtue promotion. This has led to a large number of teachers leaving their posts, according to teachers.

Earlier, the Taliban ordered all female students, teachers, and staff to wear a burqa and niqab that covers the entire body, hair and most of the face.
