“Our Silence Is Due to Coercion, Not Consent,” Women Say
Members of the Spontaneous Women’s Movement once again protested indoors.
Members of the Afghan women’s movement protested on Friday (August 12th) in Kabul, protesting over the continuation of the Taliban’s policy of suppressing people.
With the slogan “Our silence is due to coercion, not satisfaction”, they expressed their concerns about the Taliban’s repression and security threats to the protesters.
According to them, if Afghan women cannot raise their voices for justice, it does not mean that they have accepted the Taliban government.
They state that the “bullying and rebelliousness of this group” has made the citizens, especially the protesting women, to silence.
The women’s protests are being held in a closed space, while the protesting women were arrested and beaten by the Taliban group.
