Kabul – Local sources in Panjshir province say a Taliban Ranger vehicle was targeted by a magnetic mine in the province.
According to a source, the incident took place in the Khawja area, the district of Rukha before noon today (Tuesday, January 18).
Meanwhile, local Taliban officials in Panjshir province also confirmed a mine blast in the province.
“A magnetic mine had already been planted on the side of the road, but there were no casualties,” Abu Bakr Siddiq, the Taliban governor’s spokesman for Panjshir province, told Hasht-e Subh.
The National Resistance Front (NRF), led by Ahmad Massoud, claimed responsibility for the blast.
In an interview with Hasht-e Subh, Sibghatullah Ahmadi, a spokesman for the Resistance Front, claimed that seven Taliban members had been killed and several others wounded in the blast.
However, the local Taliban officials have denied the allegations.
